Providence Activities/Transportation Coordinator in Hood River, Oregon
Providence is calling a Activities, Transportation Coordinator Down Manor - Down Manor Columbia Gorge Service Area (1.0 FTE, Days) to Down Manor Hood River in Hood River, OR
We are seeking a Activities, Transportation Coordinator Down Manor - Down Manor Columbia Gorge Service Area that will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all facility sponsored activity programs for the residents of Providence Senior Village (Down Manor).
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Schedule all incoming transportation requests from residents for banking, shopping, and medical appointments
Provide transportation for Senior Village residents to local banking, shopping and medical appointments as well as transportation for recreational/sightseeing trips
Be responsible for researching, planning, coordinating and implementing all facility wide monthly activities and updating activities calendar accordingly so that it has current information
Publicize upcoming activities and works hard to engage residents in activities of their choosing
Be responsible for the coordination, scheduling and maintenance of the Volunteer program
Be responsible for planning and purchasing of supplies for resident craft group within budget
Conduct focus groups and surveys to solicit resident input to help design and plan resident outings and other activities
Design interesting activities for residents of varying ages, interests and physical abilities
Plan and host parties and celebrations for holidays, birthdays and other occasions
Work closely with the Resident Manager and Core Leaders to include non-resident family members in activities
Work closely with the Resident Manager and Core Leaders to include members of the public in some activities to better promote the facility in the community and to present Senior Village as a desirable place for seniors to live
Help make Senior Village an enjoyable place for residents to live, family members to visit and the public to enjoy when appropriate
Plan, lead and coordinate resident activities in the building as well as excursions to museums, theaters, shopping centers and scenic areas
Transport residents via 20 passenger bus or van to scheduled activities and appointments
Ensure that activity areas are well maintained, stocked and set up for planned activities
Adhere to safety guidelines and can manage resident illnesses or accidents that occur during activities
Interview each resident upon move-in and ensure there are activities that fit their needs
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High School Diploma -OR- GED
Demonstrated experience in transporting people with special need
Five (5) years of Driving experience
Valid driver's license
Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire
CPR and First Aid Certified (or training will be provided by employer within 30 days of hire date)
Knowledge of Microsoft office software and intermediate level of computer skill
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or Marketing/Communications
Experience in working with senior citizens
Extensive knowledge of both Hood River County and Multnomah County streets
