Providence Health & Services Community Relations Coordinator in Hood River, Oregon
Providence is calling a Community Relations Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Down Manor Hood River in Hood River,OR.
We are seeking a Community Relations Coordinator In conjunction with Core Leaders, the Community Relations Coordinator that will assist in the proper placement of residents within Senior Village. This position has a working knowledge of both Assisted Living and Residential Care Rules and Alzheimer endorsements as well as Independent Living requirements. Responsible for monitoring vacancy rate and actively working to fill vacant apartments through visits to senior centers, physician offices, churches, social services agencies and other potential sources for new residents. Uses contacts and written materials to attract new residents to Senior Village. Works with management to ensure that there is an active waiting list and ensures the list is actively growing. Participates in community functions and brings awareness to senior village. Assists manager with day to day operations, monthly billing, building communications, office/clerical support, maintenance of resident files, maintaining marketing material. Provides initial tours and completes paperwork for resident move ins. Acts as a representative of the organization to the community
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Complete all tasks in a timely manner as assigned by the core leader
Work closely with the Managers to assist with resident placement
Primary contact person for all resident/family grievances, files them, investigates, find solutions, and implements them. Acts as the primary contact person for family members of residents also
Actively participates in community events and brings community events to senior village
Responsible for filling vacant apartments and growing waiting list through regular outreach to physician offices, churches, senior centers, and other sites where potential residents might congregate. Uses personal contacts and written materials to attract new residents to Senior Village
Able to grow a waiting list for the community and have routine contact
Perform cost analysis annually to ensure that costs are competitive for services provided
Ensures physician offices and outside providers are aware when Senior Village facilities have openings
Ability to market facility to potential move residents and the community
Assists in events at the Manors
Assist with events that benefit the Brookside funds and Down Manor endowments
Coordinate and attends lunch at a senior center with a few DM residents once per month
In conjunction with the Activities department, organizes and hosts an annual open house at Down Manor
Provide administrative support to leaders
Coordinate and complete the annual resident survey for Down Manor and Brookside Manor
Ensure that each physician office and all outside providers have brochures and referral documents by rounding at least one time per month
Provides building tours, completes move in documents, and sets up lifeline for each resident
Coordinate monthly resident council (Brookside) and resident forums
Meet and greet residents and their families at the front desk
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
3 years Experience in a general office environment
PC Skills to include Excel and Microsoft Word
In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check is required for this position.
Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
College-level coursework in a related field –OR- equivalent education/experience
3 years progressively responsible work experience in an assisted living or long term care facilities
Medical terminology, billing and coding experience
Experience working with seniors or within a senior services environment
