Providence Health & Services Community Relations Coordinator in Hood River, Oregon


Providence is calling a Community Relations Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Down Manor in Hood River, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Work in conjunction with Core Leaders.

  • Assist in the proper placement of residents within the Senior Village.

  • Have working knowledge of both Assisted Living and Residential Care Rules and Alzheimer endorsements as well as Independent Living requirements.

  • Be responsible for monitoring vacancy rate and actively working to fill vacant apartments through visits to senior centers, physician offices, churches, social services agencies and other potential sources for new residents.

  • Use contacts and written materials to attract new residents to the Senior Village.

  • Work with management to ensure that there is an active waiting list and ensure the list is actively growing.

  • Participate in community functions and bring awareness to senior village.

  • Assist the manager with day to day operations, monthly billing, building communications, office/clerical support, maintenance of resident files, maintaining marketing material.

  • Provide initial tours and complete paperwork for resident move ins.

  • Act as a representative of the organization to the community.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification within 60 days of hire

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire

  • 3 or more years of experience in a general office environment

  • PC Skills to include Excel and Microsoft Word

  • In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check is required for this position

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • College level coursework or certifications in related field

  • 3 or more years progressively responsible work experience in an assisted living or long term care facility

  • Medical terminology, billing and coding experience

  • Experience working with seniors or within a senior services environment
