Providence is calling a Relief Cook - Down Manor Columbia Gorge Service Area (1.0 FTE, Days) to Down Manor Hood River in Hood River, OR.

Join our experienced culinary team! We provide nutritional meals with attractive presentation to residents, guests, and employees. Senior Village has two facilities: Brookside Manor offers Assisted Living and Memory Care services, and Down Manor is an Independent Living community. Meals are served 7 days a week and include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and occasional special events.
Prepare meals in a specific timeframe following the menus, recipes, and procedures as instructed by the Food Services Supervisor, utilizing specific kitchen equipment as required.
At Brookside, to work independently in preparing meals for 20-30 residents including special dietary requirements.
At Down Manor, work with several team members in preparing meals for 50-100 residents.
Properly label and store leftovers.
Clean kitchen and service areas after each meal to comply with Health Department and Senior Village standards.
Complete daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual sanitation tasks as required.
Maintain awareness of each resident's physical condition and behavior, and notify Food Services Supervisor of any noticeable change.
Assign and instruct Servers on daily tasks when Lead Server and Food Services Supervisor are not present.
Learn and observe all safety rules.
Report any potential hazards to Food Services Supervisor.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Food Handler's Certification (may be obtained within ninety (90) days in the position)
One (1) year experience working in a commercial kitchen
In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check is required for this position
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Inventory and ordering experience.
Culinary Arts certification / degree.
