Providence Cook in Hood River, Oregon
Providence is calling a Cook - Dietary (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR.
We are seeking a Cook - Dietary who will provide for and oversee the delivery of meal services to patients and hospital visitors. The cook is responsible for following all safe food handling regulations, practices and procedures. In the absence of the department manager, the cook may serve as a lead for the unit. The cook may help with on-line ordering of food inventory.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Prepare and serve regular and therapeutic meals
Ensure food service honors individual patient likes and dislikes
Maintain accurate record of meals served
Assure meals are prepared and ready for service on time
Check that all food items are properly stored
Follow safe food handling practices at all times
Ensure kitchen, equipment, plates, utensils and other dietary items are clean and properly maintained
At the request of supervisor may assist with on-line ordering of inventory
Promote good teamwork and communication with all dietary staff members
Upon request of supervisor may serve as lead cook in supervisor's absence
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High School Diploma -OR- GED -OR- work experience which required the ability to read recipes, write notations, measure, estimate, add and subtract
Valid County Health Department Food Handlers Certificate or Serv Safe Certification is required at the time of hire
Preferred qualification for this position includes:
- Hospital -OR- other professional culinary experience
