Providence Health & Services Food Services Supervisor in Hood River, Oregon

Description:

Providence is calling an Food Services Supervisor (1.0 FTE, Days) to the Providence Down Manor Hood River in Hood River, OR.

We are seeking a Food Services Supervisor who will be responsible for directing the work of Senior Village servers, cooks and dietary aids under the direction Senior Village Executive Director, in order to maintain economical, efficient and pleasing meal service for residents of varying needs, elderly independent, elderly asst living and memory care elderly.

This person will be cooking a minimum of 2 days a week.

And fills in for cooks who are on vacation and covers sick calls.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Sets the pace of work performance, the atmosphere, the attitude and the example for all servers, cooks and dietary aids.

  • Oversees the hiring, supervision, training, performance evaluation and corrective actions of employees in conjunction with Executive Director.

  • Provides positive and motivational leadership to employees.

  • Schedules servers to ensure proper coverage for operations.

  • Adheres to and leads serving team in adherence to all Down Manor/Brookside Manor polices and service standards including dress code.

  • Serves meals and beverages, buses dining room tables, sets dining room tables and area prior to each meal as per the Down Manor Servers Handbook.

  • Promotes participation in the use of the food service facilities and communicates with residents from a positive customer service orientation. Reports any resident's behavioral change to the Resident Services Manager/Administrator.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • One (1) year food service experience.

  • Experience in overseeing a commercial food operation.

  • Food Handlers Card required within 1 month of hire.

  • In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) background check is required for this position.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Culinary education (AOS degree).

  • Front of house restaurant experience.

  • 3 years of Supervisory experience .
