We are seeking a Interpreter English - Spanish - DEPARTMENT that will provide language assistance to patients, their families and medical staff.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Conduct medical and general interpreting for medical and support staff, patients and their families with compassion, respect, clarity and confidentiality
Assess and monitor patients' understanding of information conveyed to ensure the message has been understood
Use teach-back and/or show-me techniques for assurance
Perform interpretation activities according to hospital and department clinical and ethical standards
Possibly translate written documents, but only if certified as capable to provide translation of documents
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Qualified or Certified Health Care Interpreter
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Health care experience
Knowledge of medical terminology in target language
