Providence Health & Services RN - Providence Womens Clinic in Hood River, Oregon


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse to Providence Womens Clinic (0.0 FTE, Days) in Hood River, OR.

This position will support four of our clinics in Hood River: Cardiology, Women's Clinic, Internal Medicine and Family Medicine.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Providence Womens Clinic who will assist physicians in delivering quality health care to patients taking into account individual patients' physical or age-related needs. Proficient in the treatment and care of patients, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

In this position, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prepares, stocks and cleans exam rooms. Sets up exam rooms for special procedures and assists physician with procedures.

  • Reviews patient charts prior to their scheduled appointment, including and completing necessary forms.

  • Escorts patients promptly to exam rooms.

  • Obtains information from patients, including weight, temperature, BP, pulse, symptoms and current medications.

  • Obtains specimens from patients using appropriate techniques, including phlebotomy, as directed by physicians.

  • Administers injections as directed by physician.

  • Performs/assists w/procedures as directed by physician.

  • Conducts patient education and instruction as directed by physician.

  • Triage of patient calls to advise and instruct patients, based on nursing standards. determines follow up and outcome, refers to physician as appropriate.

  • Calls patients to answer questions and give instructions as directed by physician.

  • Documents all patient activity and contact in chart.

  • Orders and refills prescriptions as directed by physician.

  • Maintains an adequate inventory of medical supplies.

  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment.

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.

  • Participates in development of policies and procedures.

  • Assists co-workers with duties as needed.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.

  • Skills in taking accurate vital signs, provision of direct patient care, management of time, the practice of safety techniques.

  • Current RN license.

  • Current CPR.
