We are seeking a Supervisor Maintenance - Down Manor Columbia Gorge Service Area that will provide leadership and supervision required to coordinate and execute the daily functions and activities of the department, assists in developing and maintaining departmental objectives and quality standards. Is directly responsible for fire and life safety programs on the campus and initiating department response to emergency events.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision of the Physical Plant operations, maintenance and utility management programs and utilization of department resources to carry out the department mission in accordance with the mission of Providence Health System

  • Develop and maintains effective communications with department staff, other managers, and residents to encourage the free exchange of ideas, concerns and information related to the function and performance of the Physical Plant. Conducts regular department staff meetings

  • Work interdepartmentally and cooperatively to provide a homelike environment for residents

  • Participate with in continuous quality improvement (C.Q.I.) processes

  • Develop and manage departmental operational budget and assists administration in developing capital budgets

  • Implement departmental employee actions regarding hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary action and terminations

  • Orient, train, supervise and evaluate maintenance staff

  • Maintain policies, procedures, and safety program to insure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements including State and Local Fire Bureaus, State and Local Building Codes, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) and others

  • Serve as Fire Marshall and is directly responsible for enforcement of fire and life safety codes, and assuring the reliability of all fire and life safety systems for the facility. Related duties include:

  • Scheduling and implementation of fire drills

  • Regular facility fire safety inspections

  • Fire safety training for all departments

  • Responsible for the Interim Life Safety Management program (ISLM) during construction projects

  • Coordination of response to fire alarms

  • Participate in Safety Committee, Emergency Preparedness, and Hazardous Waste management programs

  • Supervise service maintenance agreements with contractors

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Five (5) years of Maintenance experience, preferably in a health care setting

  • Experienced in use of computers and software applications including databases, spreadsheets and maintenance management programs
